Town Manager Report for the week ending March 7, 2025
Town staff met with the School Superintendent, Facilities Director, and our contractor regarding the process to get our pre-treatment permits for the new Coventry High School sewer system coming on line in the beginning of 2026.
I wrote a Letter of Support to Safe Streets 4 All to reduce roadway fatalities and serious injuries in the Town of Coventry.
The Coventry Resource/Senior Center had a $1000 bingo progressive jackpot winner.
We worked with RIDOT on some constituent concerns over the condition of some state roads here in Coventry.
Staff conducted budget meetings with all Town Directors in preparation for the budget presentation on March 25 and the public hearings on April 29 and May 3.
The Annex asbestos remediation began as part of the new Coventry Community Learning Center coming later this year.
Governor McKee and the statewide March for Meals public awareness campaign kicked off at the Senior Center on Thursday sponsored by Meals on Wheels RI.
This morning the Resource Center had their monthly breakfast prepared by the Coventry High School Culinary program students.
Congratulations to Dennis Haggerty our Municipal Housing Fellow on completing his MPA from URI this spring. Dennis will be assigned to the Planning Department working on Housing projects for the next 18 months at no cost to the Town.
The Town will be collaborating and partnering with the R.I. Department of Housing in developing “Housing 2030” to discuss overall housing goals for our community.
