NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

AMENDMENT OF TOWN OF COVENTRY CODE OF ORDINANCES,

PART II – GENERAL LEGISLATION, CHAPTER 255

 

 

The Coventry Town Council will conduct a Public Hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Town of Coventry’s Code of Ordinance, Part II General Legislation, Chapter 255 by adding the following sections under Article V Zoning Districts and Zoning District Map:

 

 

 

 

 

NATURE OF PROPOSED AMENDMENT:

The amendment would establish the “Coventry Centre Planned District” with associated requirements for uses and dimensional standards for development in the proposed zoning district, and change the zoning designation of properties located at 2271 New Lond Turnpike and 666 Arnold Road and further described as Assessor’s Plat 7, Lots 24 and 23, from Industrial-1 to “Coventry Centre Planned District.” 

 

DATE, TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING: 

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. This meeting will be convened in-person in the Council Chambers at Coventry Town Hall (1670 Flat River Road, Coventry, RI  02816) and will also be available for public participation telephonically and using Zoom video conference technology to allow timely and effective public access to deliberations of the Coventry Town Council.

AVAILABILITY OF INFORMATION:

A draft copy of the proposed ordinances may be examined or copied at cost during regular business hours in the Office of the Town Clerk (Town Hall, 1670 Flat River Road, Coventry, Rhode Island 02816).

 

APPROVAL, AMENDMENT, ALTERATION:

The proposed amendments of Chapter 255 may be altered or amended prior to the close of the Public Hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study, or because of the views expressed at the Public Hearing, provided that any such alterations or amendments must be presented for comment in the course of the Public Hearing.

 

If approved, the amendment will take effect on September 9, 2025.
