as we begin our journey providing Coventry residents with workforce development, education and health monitoring opportunities and services in this newly renovated space WE WANTED TO LET YOU know WHAT TYPES OF SERVICES WILL OCCUR IN THIS NEWLY RENOVATED SPACE.

 

Our Community Partners Include; COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNTIY ACTION PROGRAM, COVENTRY PUBLIC LIBRARY, LITERACY VOLUNTEERS OF KENT COUNTY, RI OFFICE OF REHABILITATIVE SERVICES, RI VETERANS SERVICES, THRIVE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, WEST BAY COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM and more.

 

  • Comprehensive Community Action Program (CCAP)-Work Readiness Programs (LEARN TO EARN) including a full GED Program, they will also have their health and dental van on site throughout the year
  • Coventry Substance Abuse Task Force-Will be located in the parent resource room where we offer education and resources for parents around substance use along with the Coventry Public School District bringing resources into this space.
  • THRIVE Behavioral Health Will be providing behavioral health CCBHC –Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic services including adult and child individual therapy, group counseling services and THRIVE will be stationing a Child Psychiatrist within this space one day per week which is the first time this opportunity has been availed to our residents.
  • RI Veteran’s Services-Will be providing system navigation for veterans and their families, connection to services and work closely with THRIVE to offer mental health services to Veterans, and connect them to any Veterans Administration Services.
  • West Bay Community Action Program Conflict Free Case Management (CFCM) Services and information and referral to all of their programming.
  • RI Office of Rehabilitative Services-(RI-ORS)- Whose mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to choose, prepare for, obtain, advance in, and maintain employment, economic self-sufficiency, independence, and integration into society
  • Employment supports for individuals with disabilities who are seeking to improve work readiness, job exploration, job development and becoming more gainfully employed. They will be collocated with our supported employment specialists from the Project FRIENDS Program to best meet the needs of disabled individuals within our town.
  • Literacy Volunteers of Kent County-(LVKC)- The program offers free, confidential, one-to-one tutoring to adults 18 years & older, and to youths 16 years & older who are not enrolled in a traditional academic program. Prospective students read at or below the 6th grade level and are adults whose first language is not English.
  • Coventry Public Library (Youth Services) Children’s education and socialization opportunities, afterschool programming, evening and weekend opportunities for education for all ages.
  • Project FRIENDS Program- Program for individuals with developmental disabilities administered by the Coventry Department of Human Services offers Day Programming, community integration and job training services.  Part of this will be locating a training opportunity within our Café’ (Brewed By FRIENDS- Connecting Community One Cup at a Time) in this space. We will be partnering with the High School Transitions Program to give students real-world opportunities in a working coffee shop.  We believe this will be a benefit in multiple directions for all community partners in this space. 

    This is a starting point as we will also be hosting job and resource fairs and health fairs in this space with connections to the RI Department of Labor and Training (RIDLT), Department of Health (RIDOH) and Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE).
