Job Title: Audio Visual Technician – Public Meeting Live Streaming

Position Summary
The Town of Coventry is seeking a reliable and tech-savvy Audio-Visual Technician to manage the live streaming of all public Town meetings. This role is essential to ensuring transparency and accessibility for our residents by delivering high-quality, uninterrupted virtual broadcasts. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Zoom, basic AV troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to supporting civic engagement through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor AV equipment for live streaming of Town meetings
- Manage Zoom sessions including scheduling, hosting, and troubleshooting during live events
- Ensure audio and video quality meets professional standards for public broadcast
- Coordinate with Town staff to prepare meeting spaces and test equipment prior to events
- Troubleshoot technical issues in real-time to minimize disruptions
- Provide basic post-production support (e.g., trimming recordings, uploading to public platforms)
- Stay up-to-date with AV tools and recommend improvements when needed
Qualifications
- Basic familiarity with Zoom (hosting, screen sharing, etc.)
- Experience with AV equipment such as microphones, cameras, mixers, and projectors
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common AV issues quickly and calmly
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work evenings or weekends as needed for scheduled meetings
- Prior experience in live streaming or public meeting support is a plus
Additional Information
- Training on Town-specific systems will be provided
- This position may require lifting and transporting AV equipment
- Compensation: $20/hr
- Reports to: IT Director
