JOHNSON’S POND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN SECOND COMMUNITY WORKSHOP
The Town Redevelopment Agency (RDA), along with its consultant GZA GeoEnvironmental (GZA), are hosting the second community workshop for the Johnson’s Pond Redevelopment Plan on March 11th at the Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School (15 Foster Drive) from 6 PM to 8 PM. Attendees will be able to provide input on conceptual designs for Francis Sherman Park and the Dam property, as well as explore opportunities for long-range public recreational access to the Pond that would enhance community benefits for Town residents. Community feedback gathered during this workshop will play a key role in shaping the recommendations and strategies of the Redevelopment Plan. All residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and share their input to help shape the future improvements that will benefit the community for years to come.
The RDA is preparing this Redevelopment Plan for Johnson's Pond (a/k/a Flat River Reservoir) to enhance access and amenities and provide long-term maintenance and improvements to infrastructure to support public recreational use of the Pond. In addition, the Plan seeks to foster the ecological stability of the reservoir environment and ensure stable reservoir conditions that support a high-quality waterfront environment.
The Redevelopment Plan must create a public benefit for Town residents by identifying potential redevelopment improvements and access for public recreation and use of the Pond.
