Do you live and or/work in Rhode Island? Share your feedback regarding equity, transportation strategies, and greenhouse gas impacts through this 10-minute survey (link here) and help shape our state’s 25-year transportation plan. The survey will be open to all participants through the end of the 2024 calendar year.Your answers will help guide the next update of Rhode Island’s long range transportation plan: Moving Forward RI 2050.
What is the Long-Range Transportation Plan? The LRTP is a Federally required plan that sets the vision for a multi-modal transportation system - our roads, bridges, public transit, bike paths, sidewalks, ports, and more, over the next 25 years.
Why is this important? All transportation plans and local comprehensive plans must be aligned with this plan. Projects and strategies that are included in this plan inform what gets funded and built. The LRTP also gives us a chance to come together across many different agencies and with the public to understand what transportation conditions are like today, and to think comprehensively about what we want our transportation system to look like in the future.
