Over the course of the days the Town's; EMA, Police, Fire, DPW, School, Parks & Recreation and Senior Center have been coordinating for the upcoming Storm.

We want to convey the following information:

  • National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch and a Cold Weather Advisory.

  • Parking Ban in effect  1/25/26 08:00 AM until further notice

  • Warming Sites are located in town Fire Depts. and Coventry Police Dept.
  • Power outages should be reported directly to RI Energy  https://selfserve.rienergy.com/report-an-outage/report-issue   by phone 1-855-743-1102 or Text OUTAGE to 743674 . Please understand that the linemen cannot start the repair process until winds drop below 35 mph.
  • Keep clear of any downed power lines and trees.  
  • Generator Usage. Please obey all the safety measures recommended. Do not operate any generator indoors, inside garages as well as near or under windows.  Shut Down generators for refueling.  
  • Please if you can, stay Off the Roads until it is safe to do!  Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. Have a winter survival kits with you!  Please adhere to any statewide driving restrictions.

  • Coventry No School Monday.
  • Coventry Resource and Senior Center Closed Monday.
  • Effective beginning at noon (12 p.m.) on Sunday, January 25, 2026, and

continuing until further notice, all tractor-trailers, tankers, special permitted

vehicles, RVs, box trucks, vehicles with trailers and, tandems, except those

responding to an emergency or carrying emergency supplies, are banned from travelling on the State’s roadways. Public transportation vehicles operated by

the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority providing bus or passenger service

along established routes are not subject to this ban.
